Welcome to my portfolio. I'm Jennifer Swandle, a fine artist based in Edinburgh.

My paintings explore a wide array of subjects, from peaceful rural landscapes and bustling harbours to expressive portraits and animals.

"I'm fascinated by the different forms solitude can take, whether in people, wildlife, boats, or trees. I strive to capture those moments of isolation or embrace within a landscape, especially when the light is fleeting, thus enhancing the tones, lines, and shapes. My work is diverse, reflecting how I see the expansive world around me."

I don't confine myself to a specific style. Instead, I intuitively create contemplative pieces, blending my love for muted colours and charcoal with vibrant primary colours and simple lines. This mix brings a natural, heartfelt quality to my art, inviting viewers to connect with the quiet beauty I see and feel in everyday moments.
